Spell Check

Question

I've got Trados Studio 2017, with Spanish language Modern Sorft as my target language. I've got the option in Editor--Spelling--->Check spelling as you type activated but it doesn't seem to work. No spelling is checked while writing nor any errors are marked on the target segment. The active spell checker is Hunspell and I've tried to change it to Word, but it doesn't work either. What is the problem then?

 I think you have a few options, but changing the language pair in the project would be the hardest to sort out so I would not recommend it. You could: 
 
 Add the language dictionaries as per the KB article 
 Recreate the project with the languages you actually wanted and use AnyTM with the TM you have already 
 Recreate the project with the languages you actually wanted and export the existing TM to TMX, then import to a new TM with the languages you wanted. 
 
 Will one of these work for you?

Can you confirm the language code you are using for this? It will be in the sdlxliff. I don't have a "Spanish Language Modern Sort", but do have Spanish (Modern) which is es-x-mo-SDL, and Spanish (Spain, International Sort) which is es-ES. The reason I ask is because if I was using Spanish (Modern) then I think I would have to add additional language dictionaries to support this via Hunspell using the details in this article since only es-ES and es-MX are supported out of the box:
