I am using Studio 2017 and would like to create a new TM for a customer for the first time. This doesn't work, because I get the above error message. Does anyone has any idea how I can solve the problem?

I think this may have something to do with an unsupported language variant (invalid culture identifier).
Found this article that matches the error exactly-
Are you able to create another TM in a different lang. pair?
Also could you let us know your operating system and which languages you have installed in Studio please, along with the intended TM pair.
Could you please post the error stack as this could help.
