Untranslated parts

Question

Hello, I have completed my translation in Trados 2017. Unfortunately not all pages (more than half) are translated in the target file. More than half of the project is still untranslated although in the editor everything is translated and confirmed. What could be the reason?

 Thank you for getting back to me and confirming the solution worked in the end. 
 To close this thread and help others with similar situations I will briefly explain the problem/solution. 
 Problem 
 You are running Studio 2017 and after completing the translation and trying to export to target- everything was confirmed in the editor as translated and saved to the TM. 
 However after saving 'target as'- the target was either not showing any translations or was only showing the source language. 
 The original file was created in Word 2000-2003 
 Solution 
 Go to FILE OPTIONS FILE TYPES- and ensure the file type MS Word 2000-2003 was set as default (as this was the original file type) and was moved to the top of the Word format list. 
 Then we created a new project adding BOTH the original Word and SDLXLIFF bilingual file - adding a new (emtpy) TM and populated this from the bilingual file. 
 Once we reopened the file- we were able then to export the target file correctly.

What was the original source file format? doc or docx? 
 
Is the document appearing translated up to a certain point and then nothing else is showing? 
Or is it sporadic segments throughout the document? 
 
You could try one of the following- 
 
1) Create a new project and run the file through your TM (Batch tasks- Pre translate) 
or 
2) Or maybe the following solution as suggested previously by Jerzy Czopik

 I can think of two possible solutions- 
 1) 
 If the problem is indeed caused by tagging issues, then the first thing i would try is- ensure the document (EDITOR) is in Full Tag Text- 
 
 Scroll through the document until you find the offending tag- correct this error and then re-save. 
 2) 
 Also as this is a doc file it may be worth changing the default word type 
 1. Go to File > Options > File Types. 2. In the File Types list, move the Word 2007-2013 file type above the Word 2007-2016 file type by selecting it and using the Move Up button.

Now generate the target file.
