Questions about updates

I had a few questions about the new update system for Trados Studio. 
 1) Before Trados Studio would inform you with a message box that there is an update. Now it appears the updates appear in the notification window to the right of the screen. Is this correct? I just realized I was 2 updates behind because I never notice the tiny notification window on the right... I also confirmed with all my colleagues they didn't realize there were updates. 
 2) I don't understand the versioning numbers in the notification window. The support page and also Trados Studio "Check version" uses numbering like "14.1.10011.20356", but the notification window uses "5.1.20356.0". It would be great if these matched up...

Hello Jesse Good (JesseGood), 
 Recently, I also thought I was running the latest version, but after the last CU, I received no notifications! 
 Also the option of checking for upgrades under 'Help' was also inactive! 
 Is this the same for you and possibly your colleagues? 
 To reinstate the notifications/check for upgrades I needed to perform a Studio repair- which resolved the issue.- does this help? 
 
 As for the versioning - I am unable to replicate this unfortunately.

When you run the updates- are the version numbers now the same?
