XML parsing proble

Question

I have a very simple XML file, with just 3 tags: author, title, subtitle. 
 Of which only two are converted to the target document (title, subtitle). "Author" ignored, why? ("Autor" is OK)?

The problem is there were more than one File Type for XML extension, with "Any XML" with lowest priority. Deactivating the other XMLs solved the problem (one of these must have specíal <author> handling). But it would better to check that only one extension of any type can be active.
