Trados Studio 2019

Hello all,

When I received the message that Studio 2019 was on presale, I've immediately made the purchase (as usual when there's an upgrade). So far so good. After my payment was accepted, I received a message stating the following (copied and pasted)

"Upgrades

Your upgrade licenses are now available to be activated in Licenses. Please visit the SDL Account area of our website to access Licenses, and follow the instructions."

Being eager to try the "new toy", I went to my account to "follow the instructions" but there I can only see my existing Studio 2017 licence. So, was this a generic message and isn't there an upgrade readily available despite what is stated (in which case it would have been better not to send it as it is confusing) — or did something go wrong and wasn't my order processed correctly? An explanation "like for a 3-year old" would be appreciated.

Kind regards,

Francis

  • Hello

Thank you for reaching out in the SDL Community as I am sure this thread will help others.

Before SDL go to the final release of a new SDL Studio version, we will typically have a 'pre-launch' period (which started a week ago).

During this 'pre-launch' phase, our developers and BETA testers are busy ensuring that every thing is running smoothly and on time and we can iron out any last minute bugs.

We also provide this as an opportunity to pre-upgrade with a significant discount (which will not be available after official launch).

Once we then release the new version to market, you will be the among the first to be able to download and install and enjoy our new Studio software.

    Kind regards

    Steve
