XLS files

I'm usind SDL suite 2017 and have problems with xls files. after uploading the file to the SDL the system reads also irrelevant data such as (first line, name of file, numbers and such) eventhough I marked "first line is a header".
Also, after translating i'm getting a file with the translation only without the source eventhough I need the source to be left in the file too... HELP!!! I've tried changing setups in loads of combinations and nothing...
thanks in advance to all helpers,
Efrat

To ignore numbers, select the column(s) containing numbers, then right-click column header and choose 'Hide'. Same principle applies for rows, such as the first line of the file. Just make sure the options set in the Excel file type are to ignore hidden rows and columns.
If you want source text left in file, then for each column you need to translate, insert an empty column to the left (right-click column, option 'Insert') then copy the text into this column. Now right-click left duplicate column header and select option 'Hide'.
After translation, 'Unhide' all hidden rows, columns, etc.
