MacBook Pro disk space problems

Question

Hello. I use a MacBook Pro divided with Parallels and am having disk space problems. Could anyone tell me please which files can be safely deleted and where I will find them? I use Trados 2017 SR1, Parallels Desktop 10 for Mac and macOS High Sierra 10.13.4.

 Which 'files' are you looking to delete? 
 You cannot delete the Studio/MultiTerm 2017 installation files - but if you still have the older Studio 2015/2014 etc.versions installed you can delete these if you wish, which would free up more disc space for you- (via Windows control panel/Programs and Features). 
 Another option would be for you to allow Parallels more disc space-

 Please bear in mind that if your main drive is near to capacity, you should consider installing a bigger drive- or moving personal data/translation files you no longer need locally (but wish to retain) to an external HD as a full drive can lead to lots of unwanted issues.

 I think we need to be clear here which files we are referring to before deleting. 
 If you have older Studio versions still installed and no longer work with these- you can remove these happily from your system as these are simply wasting space. 
 (via Windows control panel/Programs and Features). 
 However if you are referring to the project files/completed translations that you completed in previous versions, you must decide whether 1) delete from your machine or 2) transfer to an external hard drive (and then delete from the parallels virtual drive). 
 As with all computer programs - there are always 'temp' files left behind every time you use a program.These you can safely delete (after your programs have been shut down correctly and your work saved) either manually or using a proprietary software for example CCLEANER. 
 This temp files however in the grand scheme of things in this situation, wont really free up as much space as you need and I would therefore really suggest considering upgrading the HD

Any temp files that Studio generates are very unlikely to free up enough space if you're already running low. 
 
The Studio 2011, 2014 etc. files under Documents are going to be your Translation Memories, Termbases, Projects etc. so probably ont a good idfea to delete these unless you don't use them or need them anymore. What Steve meant was the program files which you don't delete manually, you remove these through the Windows Control Panel as he said. 
 
Sounds like a good time to get a decent windows machine... more space, less cost and no parallels ;-)

Have you emptied the Windows recycle bin recently?

And Windows stores lots of temporary files: in the Start Menu->Run box, type
%TEMP%
This takes you to the temporary files directory. Try to delete all files in this directory. Windows will probably indicate there rare some files it can't delete, that's okay. This folder usually contains GB of junk.
