I currently have four translation memories into English and need to install a fifth, but am being offered no further language combinations than the four which already exist.
I have tried deleting one of the four memories but there is still no option for adding a new one.
I have a pretty tight translation deadline and need to get started even if it means loosing previous data.

I'm presuming you have the Freelance version of Studio?
If so, you are limited to using the five languages that you installed when you first installed Studio. Deleting one language pair TM won't make a difference.
There are 2 ways to add a different language,
Firstly, you can uninstall then reinstall the software and add one less of the previous languages installed plus the new one.
Secondly, and quicker, you can achieve the above by running a Windows Repair on Studio as explained here:
You will be prompted to add the 5 languages you wish to use.
NB: If you installed more than one variant of the same language so French (France) and French (Cameroon) for example, you only need to install one variant of that language to be able to use all the others.
NB2: A Windows Repair of Studio - and of MultiTerm - is often helpful to re-align things if you have problems, for example after a big Windows update. It's also important to keep both pieces of software up-to-date by allowing automatic or semi-automatic updates.
