XML: Processing Instructions: Should they be translated?

Hi,

I am working in some XML that have some processing instructions (http://www.xmlplease.com/xml/pi/) that have some text that might need to be translated.

Not sure if these strings should be translated or not. The xml files are converted to PDF by the client. Don't know is these strings are just "metadata" used by the system or if they can be shown in the final PDF file.

Example below: I have marked these strings in RED.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE bookmap PUBLIC "-//OASIS//DTD DITA BookMap//EN" "bookmap.dtd" [
]>
<bookmap format="ditamap" id="X00313857"
platform="Test" translate="yes" type="Book Map" xml:lang="en-us">
<?sec NO_USER?>
<?swp_SAP_Code?>
<?swp_Customer?>
<?contentversion 11?>
<?current true?>
<?swp_teamcode Preventive maintenance documentation?>
<?versionNumber 001.1?>
<?swp_RDS_PP?>
<?swp_ECC N: N AL: N?>
<?swp_title_alternative_2 Only offshore turbines?>
<?xmlNumber X00313857?>
<?swp_Type ZWI Work instruction?>
<?swp_DCC MDC080?>
<?KGU_id X00313857?>

<booktitle>
  <mainbooktitle>Work instruction</mainbooktitle>
  <booktitlealt>Immersion suit</booktitlealt>
</booktitle>

...

Thanks,

Felipe
