I keep having trouble with opening SDLxliff files for some mysterious reason.
This is the error message I get: Corrupt file: Missing locked content for 'Oasis.Xliff12.x

Any ideas?

Is this happening to all of your files or just those from certain clients?
If you create a test project with your own files and then check the SDLXLIFF - do you have the same issues?
I am wondering whether the Xliff actually originated from SDL

Post is 2 years old, but I ran into this error and did some investigation.
This error happens when there is "locked content" in the SDLXLIFF file.
When you have locked content placeholders <x> are used instead in the <target> element.
For some reason, DejaVu is adding <x> placeholders in the <target> segment, for example in the screenshot below, "locked1" is added twice.
In order to solve the problem, you need to remove these extra placeholders <x> from the file.
This just happened to me, with a file translated in WFP3. I then retranslated in WFP7 but got the same error. There are no locked segments in the file. I then retranslated in MemoQ, and this time the file was accepted by Trados.
Before translating the file in either of these tools, I opened it in Trados and copied all source to target, so the file itself was good. WFP7 did complain about vertical tabs in the file, though, and some of the segments had what Microsoft Word identified as soft line breaks.
