Shortcuts for En Dash and Em Dash not working anymore?

Question

Dear all, 
 I'm using Studio 2017 (latest version) and noticed a few days ago that in Editor the standard shortcuts for inserting En Dash (Ctrl+Subtract) and Em Dash (Ctrl+Alt+Subtract) are not working anymore. This does not seem to be limited to certain file types. 
 I checked the Keyboard Shortcuts options and they are ok: 
 
 In other software (e.g. MS Office) the same shortcuts work fine (i.e. it's not a keyboard problem). 
 Does anybody else have the same problem? I find it a bit inconvenient having to type En Dashes using Alt+0150 all the time when it should be easier.

I think the free support for installation issues may be stretched a little for keyboard shortcuts not working. But please log a case anyway and do two things in the ticket. 
 
1. Refer to this thread and explain what you tried already 
2. Refer to this JIRA item and ask if this is the same thing - CRQ-10563 
 
We do have an open item with development for non-working keyboard shortcuts, but it's specific to certain shortcuts and these are not currently included. If you can verify it's the same problem then support should pick this up and add it.

Hi Paul , 
 The SDL Support did get back to me and they asked me to reset my settings files, too: https://gateway.sdl.com/apex/communityknowledge?articleName=000001414 
 After I did that and restarted Studio, I was able to use the shortcuts again! 
 Next time, I'll do that first before bothering everybody with my issues ;)

probably a silly suggestion, but can you make sure that you are using the right subcontract on your keyboard. If I use the one up by the 0-digit on my laptop then this doesn't work as it's actually the OemMinus. I have to use the blue minus symbol with the function key (on my keyboard it shares the same key as a semi-colon and a colon) on my keyboard to make this work. So I use Ctrl+Fn+Subcontract and then all is well, as opposed to the Ctrl+OemMinus. 
 
I'm certain you know this already but just making sure as I fell foul of it.
