Adding my previous projects (done without SDL) to SDL and making a rich translation memory with them

Question

Hi friends! 
 I have translated 100 essays and books so far but I've translated them without SDL. So i want to know if there is a way to import that word files into SDL and generate a translation memory using them. I'd appreciate if someone guide me step by step because I barely know a way to use this software.
