Automated translation poorer with the 2017 version than with the 2015 one

Hello,

I have been trying both Trados 2015 and 2017 on the same project. At the begining I was working with the 2015 and then I switched to the 2017 version. To my great surprise the automated translation offered by the 2017 version is far poorer. Very often it offers no result where the 2015 version has a fairly good suggestion.

Maybe there is just something wrong with the settings of the 2017 version.

Could anyone help me please?

    Hi Paul,

    thank you for helping me out. To be honest this is my first experience with Trados. I just installed the 2015 version, started translating a single document, uploaded several TMX files (while starting this single document project) amd started translating.

    I was very satisfied with the 2015 trial version so I decided to buy SDL Trados (2017). But when I installed the 2017 version, uploaded the same TMX files and open the same project I started with the 2015 version the resulting translation is much poorer.

    I haven't changed any MT provider settings in neither versions. Perhaps, I can check if the settings are the same in both version. Could you show me how please?
