Import .tmx file with existing custom field values (source file)

Question

I have .tmx file & want to import to Trados 2017 TM with custom field values. System field values are imported OK, but Custom field values (source file) are imported as a blank value. I want to override .tmx source file values to TM not to put a new value. If you leave blank Custom field (source file text) TM shall import as blank, if you put a new text value all old values at .tmx file will be replaced by new one. Any Solution please?

Perhaps that will help you if you still have access to the old Workbench. If you're importing into an existing TM I'd need to test it a bit, and I also not tested this in 2019 yet. If I get some time later today I'll have a go at the process I think you are trying to work through... and maybe try using the merge TM feature instead as this might handle the fields more reliably in the way you wish.
