Term-base-related issue: Is there a way to open a source text and its (already translated) target text into SDL Trados, considering that the source and target texts are saved separately in MS Word or as PDFs?

Question

My client has asked me to create a term base with all his past translations (made by another translator) and has no bilingual file &ndash; only separate source and target texts. Do I have no choice but to copy each sentence of the target text and paste it into the corresponding segment in SDL Trados? This would be very time consuming and I was wondering if there was a quicker way that would make the whole process cheaper for my client.

 In case you don't know what Ozzie's referring to, you can align separate source and target documents using two methods with SDL Trados. 
 The original method is called 'WinAlign' and is available as described in this issue of Paul Filkin's amazing help blog, Multifarious: 
 retro-apps 
 Search for 'Alignment' on the page and it'll take you to a description of how to launch WinAlign and where to find it on your computer, as it is still available whatever version of Studio you have (you didn't say). 
 In this article, he also refers to the more recent alignment feature that is incorporated into SDL Trados Studio and has been since Studio 2014 SP1, which he describes fully here:

 Its functionality has improved since he wrote that article in 2014. He says in the article that it is not as easy to use as the older version. I suggest you try both as a good learning experience. 
 As far as I recall, the one advantage that the integrated alignment feature has is that you can create an sdlxliff file from it, whereas you can't with WinAlign. 
 Don't hesitate to come back and ask further questions if it's all too complicated, though Paul explains things so well I doubt you'll have any problem...

 if you do not want, or if you do not know/like the SDL "Alignment" feature, you may refer to this my old post , and relative comments, where I proposed an alternative to "Align" to create a brand new TM. 
 It has been created for Studio 2015, but it works also for Studio 2017 and 2019. 
 I hope this may help.
