Adaptive MT and regional variants

Question

I translate from German to UK English

I just set up Adaptive MT for my Language Cloud account.

The only target language option seems to be US English.

In another post, someone commented that with Adaptive MT, that shouldn't make any difference, but I can't help wondering if that is so, why does the dialogue box specify "English (United States)" rather than just "English"?

That's actually a very good question given we don't actually distinguish between the variants when returning MT results. You can use en(US) or en(CA) projects, as you can de(DE) or de(AT) for example... the results will be the same. In general Studio works on the basis of variants so I think a more consistent solution would be to display the variant of the project if the language is supported at all. 
 
But a good question... we are a bit incomplete with the UX there. Maybe submit your idea in http://ideas.sdl.com and get a little support to see it changed.
