2019 freezes

Question

I just upgraded from 2017 to 2019. Overall I am very happy, however the system regularly freezes when I try to confirm segments. Sometimes it freezes only a few minutes and sometimes I have to force the program to shut down and restart. It is very frustrating and time consumming. Any idea? Thank you.

 Please try running a Windows Repair of Studio via Control Panel...

Close all SDL applications. 
 
 Open the Control Panel :
 
 Windows Vista/7 : Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features . 
 Windows 8 : Right-click on the screen at bottom-left corner and choose Control Panel > Uninstall a Program . 
 Windows 10 : Right-click on Start > Control Panel > Select View by: Small Icons > Programs and Features .

Click/highlight the relevant SDL product from the list (e.g. SDL Trados Studio 2019 ) and click Repair . 
 
 Restart Studio.

 If you don't use it, you can also try turning off 'LookAhead' via File > Options > Editor > Automation > Translation memory > uncheck 'Enable LookAhead'. 
 There are also further features - upLIFT, Match Repair, Fragment Matching that, if turned off, will speed up Studio. 
 However, these are all suggestions that have been around since 2017 SR1 came out. 
 I personally find that Studio 2019 is faster than 2017. Others are finding the reverse and may be able to suggest solutions that work for them. I guess it depends on what else you have on your system setup, the spec of your computer, etc.
