Default folders

Hi there

I would like to know if there is a way to change the default folders which Studio 2019 uses to interact with Windows, for instance the default folder where Studio asks me to load a package from (when I want to import packages), the default folder which Studio suggests for saving a Return Package into, etc.

Thank you

  • Hello ,

I would suggest you create a folder in the location that you prefer.
Then when you receive a package/file from a client- simply manually save this to the relevant folder of your choice.
Now open Studio click open package/file etc.and point Studio to the folder of choice.
Studio will now know where to save the files and it will be from here where the return package is then also created.

  • Hello Steven.
I know that Studio remembers the last folder used for an operation and will use that as default the next time. I was wondering if there is a way to set a default folder which is always the same, instead of remembering the last one used every time.

    Let’s make a short example.
Let’s say that in C: I have created a directory C:\Work, in which I have a directory for each of my clients: C:\Work\Client_A; C:\Work\Client_B; C:\Work\Client_C etc.
In C:\Work\Client_A I have a directory for every project with this client: C:\Work\Client_A\Project_1; C:\Work\Client_A\Project_2 etc.

I want to tell Studio 2019: When I want to import a package, open always directory "C:\Work", so that I can navigate from there to the right client and the right project; or, in case I use Studio mainly with Client A, open always directory "C:\Work\Client_A" and I will then navigate each time to the appropriate project’s subfolder.
The same with return packages. I would like to set Studio in order that every time I want to create a return package from a project, it will open automatically, for instance, the directory "C:\Work" and I will navigate to the most appropriate position where to save my return package.

Do you think there is a way to do this?

    Thank you
    Kind regards
