SDLX 2007 in Windows 10

Hello.

I'm using Trados 2017 and SDLX 2007.

Does everybody know if SDLX 2007 work on Windows 10?

I cannot find any information about that.

Thank you.

  • Hello ,

As you probably already know- SDL stopped supporting the legacy Trados 2007 versions many years ago.
When you install a particular version of SDL (Trados) software, it will look for the required version of the .net framework upon which it is built, and will attempt to install (download) that version (if not already available).

If memory serves me correctly, the old 2007 Trados versions required .net 2.x.x frameworks,
Now over a decade later, Studio 2017/2019 needs .net framework 4.5.x or higher (as does Windows 10).
Although it may still be possible to install 2007 (as long as you have installed the required environment), this may cause problems and conflicts with other installed software.
Maybe worth trying out in a test (rather than in an operational) environment first just to be sure.

It would be good to hear how you get on.
