Proposal to split the group

Question

The group is very useful for keeping up-to-date on issues with Studio. But unfortunately, it is often necessary to wade through lots of postings relating to older versions, which are not of relevance to the current version. It would save a lot of time not having to do so. 
 Therefore, I propose to split the group into: 
 
 SDL Trados Studio Current Version (currently 2019) 
 SDL Trados Studio Older Versions (2017 and older) 
 
 An additional benefit would be that, over time, a database for each specific version would ensue, allowing for searching per version.

I wouldn't support this idea for the following reasons: 
 
1. You can use tags for the version when you post - that would be a better idea 
2. Many users don't post into the correct forum now and I spend a fair bit of time moving them 
3. Complexity isn't a good thing and in most cases the issues are relevant across versions 
4. Users bookmark the place they go. Every time we upgrade the bookmarks would be out of date. 
 
I can see where you're coming from but I think this would only dilute the value of the community and add an unnecessary complication.
