Extremely slow TM alignment in Trados Studio 2019

I am aligning a pair of document and responses to any manipulations (connection, a pair selection to connect) are so slow, basically unusable.

For example, after I selected 5 pairs to 1:1 connect and click 'connect' command, it takes 5~10 seconds to complete. I tried reboot and reload the alignment files but no luck. The occurrence is not restricted to this alignment only. I have had the same problems with a couple of documents.

I am pretty sure it wasn't this slow in trados 2015.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

Thanks.

When we see differences between the versions like this the first thing we would do is verify that there really is a difference between them because it's not always the case and the performance could be linked to the files themselves. But if there is a difference then the next place to look would be external intererences such as your security software as it may be restricting the new Studio version in a way that 2015 was not. So perhaps make sure that your anti-virus or other security software is properly configured to whitelist Studio 2019.

I'd be happy to test a couple of sample files if you can send them to me at pfilkin@sdl.com and see whether I have the same issue.
