Studio 2019 TM import

Question

Hi all, 
 I recently upgraded to Studio 2019 and am going crazy. The TM import (large .tmx into existing TM of ~ 50.000 segments) is incredibly slow and calculation of fuzyy index statistic is taking 3 minutes per 1.000 segments (Windows 8). What can I do?

Where is the TM stored? Locally or in the cloud? 
 
This is likely to be caused by caused by Fragment matching/UpLift (which is one of the features of Studio that many benefit from but can take a while when updating the TM). 
If you disable this feature BEFORE updating the TM then the procedure is normally much faster, but otherwise this will take some time as the TM is re-organised.

It might be the TMX files themselves. Sometime, if the content is very taggy, full of duplicates, or other problematic TUs then the upgrade process can take a while. One potential solution is to create an empty SDLTM and import the TMX files into them as opposed to upgrading them. This may not help if the TMX files are problematic, but sometimes it does.
