Verification settings to check words in specific symbols

Hi,

 

Does anyone know that QA Checker 3.0 can check the words in the specific symbols are the same between source and target?

 

I use brackets [] to specify the words in brackets are used by GUI and ask translation agency to copy the source texts to the target in brackets. The source language is English.

 

I would like to check if the words are properly copied to the target using QA Checker 3.0 if possible.

  • Please try not to hijack, and antagonise, every thread with your personal ways to work. The response from Evzen in this case is correct. The question from the user was related to the tags themselves and not the content between the tags.

    Having said this if someone had a specific requirement to check the translatable content between translatable inline tags, and didn't care that the target text would almost always be different as it's translated, then your solution is wonderful.

  • Oh, and just in case you are looking for slightly different case - that the text in <UI> tags should not be translated - then you should have used a different approach and set up the file type so that the content of <UI> element is not translatable.
    That way the entire content of the tag will be automatically carried over from source to target and you don't need to care about extra QA checks.

    Yes, QA Checker 3.0 in Trados Studio can indeed help you check if the words within specific symbols (like brackets) are the same between the source and target. Here's how you can do it:

    Step 1: Open your project in Trados Studio.

    Step 2: Navigate to the "Project Settings" and select "Verification" from the left-hand menu.

    Step 3: Under the "Verification" settings, you will find "QA Checker 3.0". Click on it.
