Verification settings to check words in specific symbols

Hi,

Does anyone know that QA Checker 3.0 can check the words in the specific symbols are the same between source and target?

I use brackets [] to specify the words in brackets are used by GUI and ask translation agency to copy the source texts to the target in brackets. The source language is English.

I would like to check if the words are properly copied to the target using QA Checker 3.0 if possible.

  • Hi Paul Filkin

Your suggestion perfectly works for my supposed situation. Thank you so much.

I created another rule for different symbol to check. However, it didn't work. The situation is below:

    When you access <UI>Settings</UI>
Beim ersten Zugriff auf die <UI>Einstellungen</UI>

Screenshot of Trados Studio QA Checker showing a rule for checking UI tags in XML files with highlighted errors in red and correct instances in green.

    I made the following rule:

Screenshot of Trados Studio Regular Expressions window with a description and regex source and target fields filled for checking UI tags in XML files.

These rules will be used to the XML files and "<UI>" is a tag used in the XML files, which is added to my original XML file type settings as a parser. Does the QA Checker regular expression work for the tags of XML files or HTML files?
