File type xml 1.2.0.0 Crystal/Prism

Question

Hello, 
 I'm having issues getting the breakdowns when working on imported sdlxliff file (I have no figures at all) in Studio 2017. 
 I get the following message: "This file has been created with a file type definition that does not exist on your system (File type xml 1.2.0.0 Crystal/Prism). 
 Has anyone ever had this issue?

There is no such filetype in Studio so this is probably a custom filetype of some kind created by whoever prepared the project. If you only have the SDLXLIFF and they didn't send you a project package that would have contained the filetype then you're stuck. You can translate it and send it back, but many other things will not be available to you because Studio doesn't have the necessary information about this filetype.

If you are able to export the settings file from your Project, and then import it into File -> Options then you would be able to use this with any SDLXLIFF that was created with the same version of the settings file you now have. 
 
Projects are independent of each other... they have to be otherwise you would risk messing up the settings on projects you are working on concurrently.
