Studio 2019 QA checker not working

Hello,

The QA checker function does not seem to be working properly for me in Studio 2019, at least with respect to end punctuation differences and tags. I've made adjustments to my settings according to the Document Center instructions (https://docs.sdl.com/LiveContent/content/en-US/SDL%20Trados%20Studio%20Help-v5/GUID-38CAB887-7AD3-41FD-B0F0-367073A62FD4), however, the checker still isn't detecting anything. Does anyone have an idea as to what the issue might be?

Thank you.

  • Hi

It is important to note that Project settings always overrule the same settings under under File>Options. This is useful for clients who send you a project or a package because their preferred settings will automatically overrule your User Profile settings.

The settings made via File>Options are your User Profile settings but will be overruled by individual projects not based on your User Profile.

If you want the File>Options settings to be applied in a project then you either have to change those settings in that project or you have to create a new project yourself based on 'Default' at the first page of the project wizard.

Also, if you open an individual file for translation rather than creating a new project, a 'mini-project' is created around it and adopts your User Profile settings.

It sounds complicated but it's quite simple once you get used to it.

    Hope this helps,

    Alison :)

    PS:

There are a lot more settings available under File>Options:

...than under Project settings, which obviously only include settings applicable to projects:
