Limited number of characters per each target segment

Question

Hello, 
 I am working on a translation test (with SDL Trados Studio 2019 Starter) and some target segments I translated are marked as an "error" as the number of characters per segment seems to be limited. I did some research to find if there would be any chance to be able to "cancel" that restriction but it seems not. Could anyone please tell me if there is any chance that I might be able to cancel that restriction or not?

The only way the number of target characters are restricted is if there is a QA setting activated to control it. Check your Project Verification settings and that will explain. However, if this is a project package then make sure this has not been set up because the requirements for the target segment are that they are less than a particular number of characters. You client wouldn't be impressed if returned a target file they could not use.

 Yes, this is easily possible but are you sure you want to change it? 
 If it has been set by the client then they did it for a reason and it is what they require. 
 If it happened accidentally somehow, you can change it in the Project settings, here: 
 
 The lower of the two items I've highlighted above would normally be activated with a number of letters entered in the dropdown, as below: 
 
 The 'Check length limitation' box at the top in my experience doesn't need to be unticked if there is no number of letters indicated but you can untick that also to be sure.
