Hello,
I often translate powerpoint presentations in my company and often the original writer will attach a graph that needs translating. With the "file types"setting to extract text from embedded content turned on, Trados will not only pick up the necessary text, but also all other text from other worksheets in the embedded excel. I do not want this to happen. Does anyone have a workaround for this? Seems like trial an error. Or I have to look through the PPT first, find embedded content and make sure only there isn't any extracted text in the embedded excel. This is never the case. So I have to either remove the embedded graph entirely or carefully edit the excel file by removing worksheets. But deleting one sheet often effects another sheet. Or in Trados just find out what's unnecessary (time-consuming) and lock those segments.
Specific example:
Both these files are the same. The first one with over 31000 characters has two embedded graphs. The second is the same file just with the two graphs removed. The difference in 27000 characters is the extra, unnecessary text from the excel. The two graphs have maybe 50 characters that need translating.
Please help.
