unable to quick insert acronyms, add words to dictionary, obtain spelling suggestions for words not spelled properly

in Spanish-English I can no longer insert acronyms quickly and they are not underlined in the original, but they do work in English Spanish. Also, I can no longer add unknown words to the dictionary and when I right click on words in red, I do not get any spelling suggestions, but rather a message saying "error obtaining suggestions' Please help.thanks

  • Hi

First of all, try running a Windows Repair of Studio, via Control Panel...

    Close all SDL applications.

Open the Control Panel via Windows button>Windows System>Control Panel:
Windows Vista/7: Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
Windows 8: Right-click on the screen at bottom-left corner and choose Control Panel > Uninstall a Program.
Windows 10: Right-click on Start (Windows button) > Windows System > Control Panel > Select View by: Small Icons > Programs and Features.

Click/highlight the relevant SDL product in the list (e.g. SDL Trados Studio 2019 SR1) and click Repair.

    Restart Studio.

Secondly, which spellchecker are you using? Hunspell or Word? If Word, then maybe it would be a good idea to run a Windows Repair on Microsoft Office, using the same method as described above.

Let us know if this helps or not,
    All the best,
    Alison
