Hi everyone,
I often have to deal with texts that contain many abbreviations (e.g. legal documents). These abbreviations are not contained in the standard abbreviation list of the TM. In order not to have lots of incorrect segmentations, I enter the abbreviations into the abbreviation list of the TM (via SETTINGS>LANGUAGE RESOURCES>ABBREVIATION LIST). Sometimes, the documents have hundreds of abbreviations and it gets quite tedious to enter them all this way.
So I had a look a the SDLTM in Notepad++ and actually found the abbreviation list to be clearly visible. I found the list at two places, so apparently it is duplicated for some reason. I then tried to copy-paste my abbreviations in one go into the SDLTM in Notepad. But after that, I could not open it anymore in Studio, so apparently the structure of the TM had been corrupted.
I was wondering if there is some way of directly editing the SDLTM without corrupting its structure? All I want is to enter the abbreviations I've collected directly into the TM. Is there any way to do this? Maybe with some SQL Editor (if I remember correctly, SDLTMs are actually SQL databases?). Maybe there is some plugin that could help with this?
I appreciate any suggestions!
Oliver
