Studio 2019 – IRIS PDF OCR Support for Studio – Installation not possible

Question

Hi! 
 I have downloaded the app for Studio 2019, however, I cannot install it. The installer does not run. The answer suggested in the Community does not help me. ://community.sdl.com/product-groups/translationproductivity/f/160/t/14853 
 When I start a preview, I tick the box &ldquo;Use IRIS&hellip;&rdquo; and nothing happens (not even a notice, warning or else since I haven't installed the app yet). The prompt to download the plug-in does not pop up as it used to ( https://multifarious.filkin.com/2017/08/17/iris-ocr/ ): Thanks for helping! Best regards, Manuel

If the plugin installer won't run then please try manually copying the sdlplugin to the plugin folder: 
 
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15\Plugins\Packages\ 
 
Then restart Studio. 
 
On your other points... I don't get the prompt either. Perhaps you should really log a support case?

Hi Manuel, 
 The behavior, as is, is intended, although it may not look like it at first. 
 Here is why: 
 The preview generated is generated from the source language of the first language pair listed in 
 File > Options > Language Pairs 
 In your case the source language seems to have been English or some other language using the western alphabet, while the document was Chinese and with the wrong source language the characters were not recognized correctly. 
 If on the other hand you check the preview during project creation, or in the project settings afterward, you try the preview, there usually is only a single language pair present, and the correct one will be used automatically. 
 I have also created a KB Article in case others there is a need for a more formal explanation that can be sent to users:
