Number checking in Studio 2019

I cannot seem to get number verification to work in Trados Studio, either with the standard "check numbers" option or with the "number verifier" plugin. For example, if I have 541 235,42 € in the source and €541,235.42 in the target, it reports it as an error "number is missing in target segment or is not properly localised". This is because it doesn't like the currency symbol attached, even though this is correct. Ignoring these errors is not an option because if a number is simply wrong, the exact same error is shown. As it happens, I always run an additional quality check in XBench, so I can afford to turn off number checking in Studio; however, I find it hard to believe that this basic functionality is not there and would rather pick up such errors as soon as possible.

Is there any way, in Studio 2019 or the "number verifier" plugin, of simply configuring the number checking so that it reports any wrong or missing numbers but ignores anything that it considers to be a localisation error?

Settings are duplicated (within that TM settings are duplicated amazingly)
    Filters are duplicated
    QA(this post) are duplicated
    Searches are duplicated
    File type setting are duplicated...

Can you provide an example of this duplication and why it's needless?

(so called, sdltoolkit ? that is pretty old and severely isolated from SDL Trados Studio itself. There is no CAT tool in this universe which lacks search functions for it own current project files, so must rely on outside tools. That is a simply Joke.)

You can search files within Studio itself.  The toolkit just added additional capability.  Btu I do agree on two things:

    1. The search and replace capability in Studio out of the box is lacking.

    2. The toolkit is old and not really integrated.  But it does still deliver a nice set of features.

should be done by SDL, not by its paid customers. What are you doing you guys ? So, So, So busy 24 hours 7 days and all year long

Understood.  I thought this may have been a little beyond your current capabilities.  No problem though... turns out the issue wasn't the number verifier plugin anyway and this thread is resolved already.

no, You know all the examples, already.

I mentioned those things less than a minute - Settings(project), Filters, QA, Search, FileType and WordCounting....
I believe you know them quite well than me, more than 10 times.
  • Not really... there are good reasons for having project settings.
