Term recognition suddenly extremely slow after installing 2019 version

Hi all

I'm running Trados Freelance 2019 with Multiterm on a Windows 10 Professional machine with local storage.

Since installing the 2019 package and updating the service packs for Freelance and MultiTerm, the term recognition window near the top right is responding so slowly that it is reducing my productivity by nearly 50%. It sometimes takes 30 seconds or more for terms to show up. I have not changed anything else (no sudden increases in the size or number of termbases).

This is becoming a real problem. Can someone please help? I am not having similar issues with any other software on this device.

Thanks in advance.

  • Greta, I regret to inform you that since applying the solution, term recognition now only works at all on around 50% of the segments, even though the segments are full of terms that are in my termbase.

Sometimes I am lucky and a term pops up while I am translating, even though the top right window says no results available, but usually nothing at all. This is becoming slower than translating freehand.

Trados 2019 is turning out to be the worst version by far, even though I am working with a very powerful laptop with a huge RAM that is only 18 months old and gives me no other problems.

Is there any way you can help? I've been working with Trados for eight years, sometimes a little rocky, but this version has killed my productivity.
