Translation in progress is gone

Question

I'm Trados Studio Starter 2019 version user and yesterday, after more than 30,000 words translated, my list of documents is gone! The translation in progress is gone! It was already more than 70% done. I'm desperated as I also try to put the original word document again, to use the TM and continue working, but almost all 100% matches are EN to EN! And my target language is PTBr. I barely understand where I should ask for help at this confuse software! Please, what do I do?

Did you make sure you saved the work done so far by confirming the segments translated with Ctrl + Enter key? By doing this you not only save the segments but you also store them in your TM as well, so if something like this occurs -after a power outage for instance, you don't really get to lose anything. 
In addition I would also suggest that you add Trados Studio on the whitelist of your antivirus program, to keep the work safe from being removed from the system. Basically the antivirus runs in the background and what it does is from time to time it runs a scan of your PC and removes the temp files and along with those your files that are not saved properly.

Do you open files for translation by dragging and dropping them in Studio or the 'Translate Single Document' option from File? 
If so, please check the folder of your source documents - even if the list of projects has disappeared from your Studio, the files should still exist. The software saves your translatable files in the same folder as your source documents, or in the Documents\Studio 2019\Projects\DropFiles folder if you use the drag&drop approach.

 What exactly is the extension that Studio doesn't recognize? Can you paste here the full error message please? If you also have the stack error please paste all of it , as well.
