Did you unselect before you added the files to the project?

EDIT: And: Did you use the global settings ("Files Options") or the project settings? You have to set this in the project settings.

I tried to unselect it before and after I added the files to the project, and I used both the global settings and the project settings.

Can you send a screenshot of the editor view and a screenshot of your file type in project settings?

Forget about the File-Options settings, just work with the project settings for now.

Looks to me like you are setting the parameters for idml files, but you are using InCopy (icml) files.

Idml is an InDesign interchange format, icml is the export for InCopy workflows.

I'm turning to you as you've always been so helpful with Incopy... 

I'm currently translating a magazine in Incopy files via Studio. This time around, I decided to merge the files of each folder as it was advertized that doing so would avoid the numerous tags which slow down the translation process, and also it's a lot more convenient to translate all files from the same article as one.

However, now I don't know how to retrieve the merged file or the independant files that I translated, and I hadn't anticipated this problem. When I save to target, the name of the saved file corresponds to just one of the numerous files. When I open it in Incopy, it's blank, and all the other files remain in English. 

Do you have any idea how to solve this problem?

Hi Frédérique,

You should not have merged the icml files. I think the best way forward now might be to import all the individual iclm files into the same project (create a subfolder to keep things in order) and let the TM pretranslate them. I hope you did not have to do a lot of splitting and merging.

Select all icml files in the Files View, then click "Open For Translation". This will cause a virtual merge - translatable content will be merged as if it was one file in the Editor VIew. Work through your segments, confirm, save, close and create target files.

Thank you for your answer. I tried to create a subfolder by clickinf on Add a new folder but I didn't really know how to do it, so in the end I just added all the files to the project with Quickly add files. But now I can't open neither the merged file nor the individual files:

Apparently I can't add the files to the project because the merged file already contains the individual files with the same name. I guess I have to recreate all my projects from scratch...
