What to do with metadata in Incopy files

Hello everyone,

I am going to translate Incopy files in Trados for the first time. There are a lot of files, and most of them mainly contain what seems to be metadata and I'm not sure what to do with them:

"FullParagraph" on page PageNumber
"FullParagraph"
"FullParagraph" on page PageNumber

360_Incopy_3-12-19-Thrivin

etc.

(I can't copy my screen capture so I copied it by hand, FullParagraph and PageNumber are tags)

Should I lock the segments? Copy them? Translate "on page"?

Thank you in advance for your help!

  • Hello Daniel,

I'm turning to you as you've always been so helpful with Incopy...

I'm currently translating a magazine in Incopy files via Studio. This time around, I decided to merge the files of each folder as it was advertized that doing so would avoid the numerous tags which slow down the translation process, and also it's a lot more convenient to translate all files from the same article as one.

However, now I don't know how to retrieve the merged file or the independant files that I translated, and I hadn't anticipated this problem. When I save to target, the name of the saved file corresponds to just one of the numerous files. When I open it in Incopy, it's blank, and all the other files remain in English.

Do you have any idea how to solve this problem?

Thanks a lot for your help!
