Maybe try resetting your Windows layout

I have the same problem, sometimes switching to another file open in Editor and doing a CTRL+Z will work and the it starts working again in the current file, but not always. Very annoying. When it happens, no shortcuts work.

is it possible that this scenario is due to the Projects focus being on a different project than the one being worked on, as discussed here:

7 years later and this issue is still present. My only conclusion is that correcting this is a not concern of whoever is developing this piece of software.
