Translation memory SDLT format vs TMX format

Question

Good morning everyone, my customer wished to have a translation memory. 
 I created it in Trados Studio 2019 (I am a beginner). It has an sdlt format. 
 And now he is asking me a translation memory in TMX format. 
 Can someone explain what the difference is and if this is possible? Might this be due to a question of software version?

Hello Marie Jacquet 
SDLTM is Studio's internal format for translation memories, TMX is an exchange format. In Studio's Translation Memories view you can simply select a TM, click "Export" in the ribbon under "Tasks" (or by right-clicking on the TM name in the list) and Studio will export your TM into TMX format.

SDL Trados Studio uses the SDLTM format for translation memory. 
TMX (Translation Memory eXchange) format allows the exchange of the data within the TM between various CAT tools. 
You can easily export your SDLTM to TMX using the following free app
