duplicate memsource file type

I use Studio 2019 current version. I have the memsource MXLIFF file type 1.0.0.0 installed in my default project template. This morning I received a package from an agency that uses Studio 2017 and does NOT have the memsource file type. I open the package and it installs on my PC correctly. I edit project settings to add TMs, etc. I go to Files view - no problem.

I select files to open for translation and - Error message (something like) "There are duplicate file types for this project". When I open the Project Settings - File types, I find the list of file types begins with SDL XLIFF, then memsource MXLIFF and then memsource MXLIFF again. I select one of the memsource file types and Remove it. OK. Now I can open files in the project.

This only happens with packages from this one agency, yet I receive packages for other agencies and this does not happen.

Can anyone shed light and wisdom on this issue, please?

  • Hello ,

If this is happening only with one client- this might suggest perhaps that the project has been created incorrectly.

What happens if you unzip the package outside of Studio (rename the .sdlxliff to .zip) and then import thr individual files in to a project that you have created?

Do you still get the same error?
