Possible to add expressions to Quick Insert (Ctrl+Comma)?

Hi,

Is it possible to add expressions to Quick Insert? In Danish, there has to be a space between eg. the number and a paragraph sign (§) - is it possible to add this so that it is recognized and can be inserted with Ctrl+Comma? It works for eg. percentage signs (also requires space in Danish) because this is a "measurement" and so is controlled by Auto-Substitution > Measurements, but not for the paragraph sign, but it would be practical to be able to add it.

Thanks!

  • No it's not. I'd like to see custom placeables in Studio as there are a lot of usecases for it, but I'm afraid there isn't this possibility at the moment.

You can autocorrect I guess, or use the Regex Autosuggest Provider plugin on the appstore to create your own patterns for this when working interactively, or even use Autohotkey, and finally you can use a QA check to find any you miss... you could also use the SDLXLIFF Toolkit to quickl fix any across a whole project in one go.  But none of these allow you to work in a way that they would work with the Quick Insert in the same way as recognised placeables from your TM work.

  • Many good suggestions, thanks! Do you happen to know how to add this to autocorrect? I actually need the space to be non-breaking, so I would need a joker sign for any digit plus a way to indicate a non-breaking space (it does not seem possible to simply enter a non-breaking space in the Replace With field in the AutoCorrect window in Options by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Space). The first problem (any digit) could of course be solved by adding 10 different lines replacing "§0", "§1" etc. respectively if joker signs are not possible.
