Not sure if you would also need a non-breaking space in your case, but if not, you can modify the script to use a regular space, and use any key combination you'd like to trigger the hotstring.

I would in fact need a non-breaking space, I forgot to mention that in my question. Also, the space would need to follow the paragraph sign, not precede it - I would need eg. "§1" to be replaced by "§ 1". Can you tell me what the code line would have to look like in that case?

You could try these:

^.::Send §^+{Space}  ;this uses the hotkey Ctrl+. to insert a non-breaking space after the paragraph character
:*?:§1::§^+{Space}1  ;this one would "autocorrect" §1 to § 1 (nbsp)

I think the Regex Match AutoSuggest Provider would also be a very good option, you would just need to identify the source pattern, what kind of pattern do you usually have in your source: §1 or § 1 (already with a nbsp)? Alternatively, of course, you could create patterns for all the possibilities.
