Is it possible to lock/protect content in the Microsoft Word File Type?

Hello Paul,

I've some Microsoft Word files (.docx) where I'd like to protect or lock non-translatable content. I mean avoid that content being processed. My question is, is it possible to set the Microsoft Word file type in Trados Studio, enabling/disabling some option for protecting that content? For example, I'd would like to highlight in yellow or enclose between brackets {} the non-translatable content in all the docx files and then set up the File Type settings in order to protect it. I was trying to do it and I was researching as well but I didn't find anything about it.

    Hi KL Argentina,

    in addition to the suggestion by Rodrigo Vásquez, in the passage where in Studio you set the style to ignore (“lock/protect”) untranslatable text, I’d suggest to create in MS Word a "character style" (not a "paragraph style") and to to check in Studio Microsoft Word File Types the “Convert to inline tag” checkbox:

    In this way, when loading the file in Studio, you will see that a sentence / part of a sentence / paragraph is existing in your document as per the fake text example here below, but it is “locked/protected” and, most important, you will see where it appears and you will be sure that it appears in the correct position in the final translated document to deliver to the client:
