If you have received a project package from a client, and you open the project in Studio and publish it to GroupShare, you cannot create a return package for your client, if you are not doing it from the machine, on which you originally opened the project package. This is a major disadvange that doesn't allow for flexibility in your workflows. Will this be fixed in a CU soon?

The problem here is how the package is being handled- you cannot create a Return package if you did not receive the SDLPPX in the first place.
I believe Jane was in contact already today and will call you tomorrow to explain the workflow properly.

I actually found this article under the ”Knowledge” section on the SDL Support website describing the issue.

In the section ”RootCause”, it says that ”SDL Development is considering an enhancement to enable this workflow”. However, this article was last updated on 13th February 2017. So this enhancement hasn’t been made yet.
It would indeed be of great value, if this flexibility would be built into Studio/GroupShare in near future, as the lack of flexibilty here is currently preventing us from getting on with using our ProjectServer for workflows where this functionality would be required.
