You can only do this if any of the following applies:

1. you have something in the content of the text for each TU that makes it distinct and easy to find
2. you created a field value to hold the law citation of the source files and stamped each TU with this when you created it
3. you added the TUs on a specific date, and nothing else, so now you can remove TUs based on that date

Thanks for your speedy reply.

I must say I'm disappointed to find out that there is no straightforward way of searching a TM for segments by source/target file names. It would be really useful.

Be that as it may, for now, how can I use your No. 3 suggestion?

Also, perhaps more importantly for all my future alignment work, how can I use your suggestion No. 2 ?

And how exactly do you imagine it would work, given the fact that TM normally does NOT store any information about the source file?! TM by its definition stores basically only information about source text and target text, that's it.

What exactly is disappointing on a fact that if you want to be able to retrieve certain information, you need to have it stored somewhere in the first place?

If you would want to get information about where from and how exactly you personally gained all your skills since your birthday, will you be able to do it? Probably not... And will you also find it disappointing? Or will you realize that "there is no wonder if you didn't keep records of all that since the beginning"?

I'm glad you seem to know a lot about the technology involved in Studio,

but did you ask yourself before posting your reply what was your intention?

Was it to bring help or make me feel dumb?

 I would suggest if you don't have anything constructive to contribute, then simply refrain from being offensive.

And if you are inclined to help, why don't you show me how to do Paul's Number 2 and 3 suggestion.

The intention was to let you, using my questions and examples, find out answers to your own questions or statements by yourself.
