The All Languages list covers all language pair levels system-wide, according to the SDL Trados Studio 2019 online documentation, here:

If you are sure than unchecking the 'Check word list' in the language pair that doesn't have a list of words to check, then Studio is not behaving as it should according to the documentation.

The agency I do most of my work for always add the Word list to the All languages section AND the individual language pair in their project templates so maybe they've experienced the same problem as you...

I have been experiencing a similar issue. Up until now, I could not get the Word List checker to identify more than the first line in the list.

Originally I tried setting the Word List at the project level. Later on, I tried setting it at the software level. Just now after reading your post, I tried adding the same list at both project and software levels and... finally is working!

I believe this is a great area of opportunity because, as you mentioned, the feature does not work according to the documentation and the solution is not intuitive at all. Hopefully, this issue will be addressed in the coming updates.

Hi Alison Field

Yesterday before I wrote I tried it with my own 2017 version Studio and worked. In the office we use Studio 2019. Today when I got to work I tried the same and sadly it did not work.

Have you experienced this issue in Studio 2019?

Yes, word lists works for me in Studio 2019 with any project, whether created in 2017 or in 2019 with brand new settings.

I double-checked it just now with a brand new project, and I only need to add it to the All Languages section for it to work.

A silly question but are you sure you have the checkbox ticked? Here:
