Would it possible to see this source file?  Can you create a sample with just a few anonymised segents perhaps?

What type of file is it?

Hello Paul, thank for getting back. The file format is: xlf.sdlxliff. Here is a screenshot with one of these empty segments.

They are not coming one after the other, only here and there they appear.

ok - understood.  Why don't you just ignore them?  The source was an XLF before it was converted to SDLXLIFF so it contained empty segments.

If you want, filter on them all, set them as translated status and then lock them.  Then filter on unlocked so you don't have to see them as you work :-)

The reason why I did not want to ignore them is: they are not counted in the stats overview of the project and I thought that it is important that I deliver a package to the client in which all the files appear in the project overview as 100% translated. Is that not the case?

The stats are there to help you make sure you translated everything.  All your client is interested in is that you return a fully translated file.  If the segments are already empty you can change their status to translated and lock them for your own benefit and then the stats will be meaningful for you.
