No, the document translated is in Word format (I know this does not work for Excel, for example). How do I get this to work?

hi did you find a solution?? I have the exact same problem, since I bought 2021 version. It is extremely annoying, I am also handling a simple Word doc, where I need to highlight so I can easily locate my 'doubts' later and cannot anymore...

Looks like I never got back to Suzanne Bergeron... apologies for that!

I can only imagine that the file was an sdlxliff provided by another... maybe using an old filetype Studio didn't recognise or something like that.

However, if you want to be able to highlight any file format for your "doubts" and be able to filter on them later I recommend you install the Wordlight plugin:

Both offer superior highlighting capability to the out of the box features in Studio.

thank you, Paul. I have installed the plugin and it works fine. I have never had any problems with this feature in Studio. Since I bought the new version, even for brand new projects, whatever one I unpack, I create or legacy or new, this feature simply does not work. The problem is precisely the 'QuickInsert' tab only works for the visible items, if I click on the icon to expand and have the whole list, I get this error. Why such options have no redundancy (for usability purposes) so I can access them anywhere else, I dont know. But I notice that problem with other tabs, and I have mentioned in other posts that entire sections of the Home are simply not reachable, not expandable, not even readable. And perhaps the problem starts by that.

Anyway, I will rest my case and gladly used the plugin, although I think the core features should just work. Thanks a lot!

No, I haven't. You mean uninstall and install again? It will be hard during the week, but I could try at some point. and maybe anyway at some point developers realize they have some serious design issues ...

No, just reset.

You could use this app for the reset and this will also explain what you will lose by carrying out a reset before you do it:

appstore.sdl.com/.../

But if you'd rather do this manually then rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio:

c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16

So the path would become this:

c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16_old

If you can't find this folder then you need to unhide your hidden files/folders:

www.howtogeek.com/.../
