Sometimes when I start Studio I get the following error message from StudioUpdateClient: "Failed to create temporary folder: ***" and I have to reboot to be able to use Studio. Do you have any clue how I might solve this?

The error message seems to relate to a Windows permissions issue. Could you open Studio with right click Run as Administrator. Once accessed, check if there are any pending updates via Help/Check for updates and install those.

I tried what you suggest. I ran Studio as Administrator and I didn't get the error message. I checked for updates but there were none pending. But the next time I started Studio just by clicking on the icon I got the same message again.

I think this may have something to do with the 'tilde' (~) within the file path name-
A tilde is often used to shorten the name in Windows paths and may not be recognised properly.
I would suggest navigating to this path and renaming/or deleting - rebooting the PC and restarting Studio.
