UNABLE TO OPEN A NEW PROJECT

Hi everyone,

I cannot open any new project because, when I try to, a message appears saying:

[Translated from Italian]

Unmanaged exception. Information on errors is saved in the file errorLog.txt. Error message:

Impossible to load project template from: 'C:/Users/[My name]/Documents/Studio 2019/Project Templates/Default.sdltpl':

Impossible to find part of the path 'C:/Users/[My name]/Documents/Studio 2019/Project Templates/Default.sdltpl'

And the only thing I can do is to upload and translate documents as single files, which is not what I need to do at the moment.

I really need some help!

Thank you to whoever will be so kind to reply.

  • Hello ,

If you can load single file translations but not projects, this would suggest the path to one or more templates has changed.

This could be caused if you have for instance loaded/installed OneDrive for instance, but could be caused by many other factors.

To remedy this, go to FILE>Setup>Project Templates and remove the default template as mentioned in the error message.

Now create a new project and the error should no longer happen- If it does- keep removing the templates until you find the one thats causing the problem.

You can now add the templates back into the same place- which should now stop the incorrect path and error occurring.
