Working with PDF's is notoriously difficult (PDF's by design are difficult to manipulate) and problems can be compounded based on lots of factors.

We would recommend therefore that you prepare the PDF outside of Studio first -

After researching OCR and Armenian- due to the unique structure of the language... -

... some OCR providers don't make it clear whether they support Armenian characters or not.

ABBYY does list Armenian though as a supported language.

I'd agree with Steve's post on handling the PDF as a DOCX in Studio rather than as a PDF, but not necessarily the way he got there.  IRIS can do a pretty good job and you can use this, via Studio, to get your converted DOCX which you can then tidy up using another free tool - https://appstore.sdl.com/language/app/transtools/543/

I created a couple of tests... one with a text based PDF and one with an image based PDF.  The results were interesting:

Which is exactly the problem you encountered.  It seems we do not support OCR for Armenian.  So I took a quick look at this site:

That did a remarkable job... I think!  The OCR'd file from this website opens in Studio completely tag free and like this:

Perhaps this is a viable alternative for you?  Does the text make sense?  Note the original was the result of google translate from an English newspaper article!

Thank you for confirming my experience with the SDL OCR.
Unfortunately it is not an option to use the online services for the documents, they are confidential.

 I am feeling me fooled and tricked by SDL chat support. Before purchase I have extra asked several times: Is SDL supporting FULLY Armenian language PDF OCR or not, the answer was YES,sure , which is simply not true!

Thanks to Steven (he suggested ABBY), now I know I choose me the wrong tool for the Armenian language.
I hope the SDL developers will read this thread and will add support for Armenian in the next update, or remove totally the list of unsupported languages. This will prevent other users to be fooled.
